In a world often defined by its challenges and complexities, there are those remarkable individuals who rise above the ordinary, making a lasting impression on both their professional spheres and the communities they serve. Meet Traci Levine, CEO & Founder of makeitMVP — the ultimate collaborative community for tech bootcamp grads and enthusiasts!
With a mission to empower aspiring innovators to transform their ideas into tangible minimum viable products, makeitMVP is more than just a community — it’s a supportive ecosystem that nurtures talent, fosters collaboration, and provides valuable resources to help individuals smoothly transition into the tech industry.
Traci, what sets makeitMVP apart from other similar initiatives?
“I would say it’s our commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for members in our community.
Through the comprehensive resources we provide, makeitMVP offers mentorship programs, project-based learning opportunities, and access to a global network of tech professionals.
As a member, you also gain valuable insight into a variety of job postings and internships, all while taking full advantage of our extensive range of networking opportunities.
The initiative was designed to encourage creative thinking and ensure that everyone feels empowered to push the boundaries of their skills and knowledge.”
In your opinion, what would you say is an industry shortcoming for tech bootcamp grads?
“As a tech bootcamp grad myself, I know firsthand the challenges and opportunities that arise in this industry. A sense of community, mentorship opportunities, and a strong support system are so essential for getting ahead.
At makeitMVP, like-minded individuals can come together, learn, grow, and turn their tech dreams into reality. Our community helps support your transition into tech through mentorships, valuable resources, and engaging projects. We are dedicated to this vision and strive to be a part of everyone’s journey into tech, regardless of what stage they are at in their career.”
If you were to describe your daily routine, how does a typical day on the job look like as the CEO & Founder of makeitMVP?
“I don’t really do mornings. I start my day around 10:00AM with a smoothie and set the agenda for the day. Typically, my day consists of both deep work and meetings. I try to walk on my walking pad for around 1.5 hours total during at least two meetings a day. My work day ends around 6:30PM-7:00PM and I usually have an event or workshop in the evening.”
What would you say is the most challenging aspect of your work and how do you overcome it?
“The most challenging part is staying organized and honestly managing others without micromanaging. I try to give my team members autonomy. I also try to work asynchronously instead of coordinating massive amounts of meetings.”
With everything you do and manage, how do you maintain a work-life balance?
“I wish I had a good answer. Best I can say is to allow yourself the breaks you need. It’s alright to have non-productive days – we’re only human. I also really try not to work on weekends in order to enter the week refreshed and ready to go.”

How do you stay motivated? What inspires you most?
“My main motivation and source of inspiration is the ability to make a change and offer help and guidance in real-time. Our community grows and thrives off each other. Some of the most inspiring moments I’ve had are when grads tell me they were hired as a result of working with us. It’s so fulfilling to see the positive impact that our community has on tech bootcamp grads and enthusiasts looking to transition into this industry.”
What productivity hacks do you have to recommend?
“When it comes to productivity hacks that help me get more done in the same amount of time, I like to use the Pomodoro Technique — a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo. Tomato Timers ensures that I stay focused on my goals while reminding me when to take a break throughout the day.”

What is your biggest dream and what would you love to create in the world?
“As cliche as it sounds, my biggest dream is to be me! That’s it. I don’t need to create anything amazing. I just need to create the best version of me and allow that version to inspire and help others to do the same!”
Aside from your journey with makeitMVP, can you share with us a moment that was most impactful?
“Two years ago, I competed in Miami Hack week and my hackathon project and team were acquired and hired by Niantic. That experience was extremely impactful since I was given the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the brightest in tech. It also allowed me to realize the power of community and how essential your network is for growing in this industry.”
On that note, who are some Fems in STEM that you look up to?
“Tricia Becker, Denise Mendez, and Maxeme Tuchman.”
As a Fem in STEM yourself, which do you prefer: PC or MAC?
“This one’s a no-brainer. MAC all the way!”
If you had to choose between Tea or Coffee, which would you pick and what’s your favorite flavor?
“Coffee! No flavor — just the Real Deal specialty coffees. I love it so much that I created a coffee account on Instagram called Blundstones & Baristas to help keep every explorer caffeinated.”
